Mary Elizabeth “M. E.” Yancosek Gamble, Chair, Communications and Media Arts Department, teaches all public relations, advertising and integrated marketing sections at Bethany College. In only three years she has revitalized the department, fundraised over a quarter of a million dollars, has rewritten the curriculum and has brought new life to the Bethany College Department of Communications and Media Arts, and prepares the department to host the 2014 national Society for Collegiate Journalist conference at Bethany. From 2009-2011 she was the Renner Scholar at Bethany. Bethany College PRSSA won "Chapter of the Year" in 2012-2013.
Before teaching at Bethany she was the state director of the Small Business Division of the West Virginia Development Office. Before being named state director she was the Small Business Developer for Loudoun County, Virginia. Immediately before, she was the director of the regional office of the West Virginia Small Business Development Center.
A native of Washington, Pennsylvania, she has a BA from California University of Pennsylvania, an MA from Marshall University (WV), both in communication studies, and has done post-graduate work in organizational communication from Bowling Green State University (OH).
She began her career teaching at Bethany College (WV) and at Washington & Jefferson College (PA). She has been Executive Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Wheeling Jesuit University (WV), and Director of Marketing for Cafaro Company (OH) and Crown American Corporation (PA). She also taught full-time a faculty member in the School at Business, Fairmont State University (WV), and remains on the advisory board for the School. She is married to Dr. Mort Gamble, Assistant to the President at Bethany College. They have a rescued cat named Bob.
